After a desperate call about a cockfighting seizure in Oklahoma, we urgently took in 5 new chickens with the help of Rooster’s Sanctuary at Danzig’s Roost. When the call came in from them, the chickens were already in transport out of temporary shelter but were suffering injuries, underweight, infested with mites, and in need of immediate, permanent, and loving placement. Our Care Team rushed to bring 3 roosters and 2 hens to a safe and forever home at Luvin Arms. We need your help providing critical medical care and emotional rehabilitation to three new roosters and two hens, Atreyu, Drogon, Dani, Squint, and Kali.
We cannot fathom this cruelty and would be deeply grateful for your support to demonstrate that all beings deserve freedom. In cockfighting, a steel razor blade is attached to the leg of each rooster, before they are put into a ring to fight to the death. Once a historical tradition, cockfighting has long been declared unlawful in the U.S. and is a felony in 42 states. This cruel and senseless form of “entertainment” is connected to a multitude of illegal trades and gambling. Horrifically, both birds will often die in a cockfight, and those who survive are fated to become severely injured and discarded.
