Rather than beating ourselves up for not having the "willpower" to avoid sugars, fats, and heavy carbs, let's take a page out of James Clear's book Atomic Habits, and make it: - Less obvious - More Difficult Gold Level - Take it out of the home. Only have it when you go out, don't buy bulk and bring it home. Silver Level - Buy it as a small treat at home, eat it for that occasion, get rid of the rest. Bronze Level - Move it to the top shelf, around the corner, behind the mixer and the canned food, where you can't see it or reach it easily. A Sunday sermon. Don’t be seduced by impressions and vanity metrics on your posts. Of course, such posts play a role in getting eyeballs on you. High performing posts get you in front of new audiences and there is huge profile value in that. But, they are not generally the posts that result in your goals on this platform. For instance, if I was going to go on metrics alone this month, my highest performing posts were about andouille (tripe sausage) and 24/7 oyster vending machines. Super fun posts which generated much discussion. Lots of impressions. But - new contact requests from folk in legal? Not so much. A golden lead in my inbox? No. Not even the offer of a podcast appearance from Normandy Tourism. Them impressions and likes and a fun convo are addictive - but they don’t mean a thriving business and they don’t mean sales. Craft your content strategy so you can turn up with stories whilst still ensuring your audience know what you do and who you do it for. But for now LinkedIn, I wish to bring together my most popular content of August in one single post. A 24/7 andouille (tripe sausage) vending machine.
